Sally Schneider Quilts
Sally Schneider

Welcome to my web site!

My name is Sally Schneider, and I am a quilt designer and author currently living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been quilting since 1971, and have made several hundred quilts since then, mostly by machine, although two were completely hand-made.

A specialist in scrap quilts and built-in borders, I have written ten books, two of which are still in print. My eleventh book is in progress right now, and will be published in January 2013. It is titled Scrap Quilts Fit for a Queen (or a King) and features king- and queen-sized scrap quilts.

My newest book was released in September 2009. Crazy for Scraps is published by Martingale and Company and is a compilation of the best quilts from my previous works for Martingale — Scrap Happy, ScrapMania, and Scrap Frenzy. It includes nineteen quilts; two of them are brand new, and several others have been remade.

I have also self-published two books, Savvy Sets for Scrappy Blocks and Designing with Built-In Borders, as well as a line of Built-In Border patterns.

Professional Quilter Teacher of the Year nomineeI have been active in the quiltmaking field as a teacher since 1980, as a quilt book editor from 1995-1998, and in 1999, I served as a selection panelist for the 20th Century's 100 Best American Quilts. I have been nominated as one of the American Quilter's Society's All American Teachers, and in 2007 and 2010 I was a nominee for Professional Quilter magazine's Professional Teacher of the Year.
